Happy St Patrick’s Day!
As you are reading this, I am probably in the pub as Coyne Recruitment were kind enough to give me today off to celebrate! One of the many reasons, I am so glad I joined the company in June last year!
So, how does someone from the North of Ireland end up working for a Liverpool based company? Well, I was the stereotypical Irish person in the sense that I decided to move away from home – I chose Liverpool for university and fell in love with the city. So much so, that I stayed for 12 years. I will not be the first, and the certainly not the last, to say that Liverpool feels like the 2nd capital of Ireland and a home away from home! However, like many others at the start of the pandemic, I felt it was time to move back home to be with family. I expected to only be there for a short time, however, personal circumstances soon changed that. When lockdown was announced, I fell back in love with my home. How could I not when I am surrounded by mountains and greenery! Stuff that I didn’t appreciate as an 18 year old. My daily walks involved some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, and as much as I loved Liverpool, there was no way I could give that up!
It was a bit stop-start in terms of finding the right role, having just given up a fantastic job that I never thought I would be able to match… until I started with Coyne. The Recruitment world is a small one and having worked within the sector for 9 years you get to know almost every recruiter out there, and luckily for me I got to know the directors of Coyne. We reconnected and they offered me a job that allows me to have the best of both worlds. I work remotely but I still get to visit Liverpool as much as I want, win-win! They have to be one of the most flexible and forward-thinking organisations I have worked for.
Recruiting in the Skills sector was new to me, but the support from management has been phenomenal! Coyne has a real family-feel, and quality of service to clients and candidates is at the heart of everything we do. This is what really sold the role to me and why I love my job so much! Nothing is more rewarding than helping candidates find the perfect job! I work with some of the best clients and candidates within the sector, specialising in Business Development and Sales roles. So, if you are looking for a fresh challenge hit me up (I would be a bad recruiter if I didn’t get that in somewhere, ha-ha!). Please note, I am at the age now where it takes a few days to recover so I will be out of office until Monday! 😉
So, today is the first St Patrick’s day in 2 years that we actually get to celebrate properly and my first one in Ireland for many years, I am very excited but also a little scared! Maybe I should do a write up on whatever shenanigans we get up to… but I doubt that would be LinkedIn appropriate! Have a great St Patrick’s day, and please use it as an excuse to have a weekday pint or 5! 😊
