Business Development Manager – Ed Tech

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Business Development Manager to lead revenue growth in the Small to Mid-Market segment. In this role, you’ll be responsible for generating and securing new business opportunities by engaging with potential clients, understanding their needs, and presenting tailored solutions. You’ll have the support of Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs), Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs), and an SDR dedicated to lead generation, helping you build a strong and steady sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Qualification: Identify and qualify potential leads through outbound prospecting, inbound inquiries, and collaboration with the SDR team. Effectively manage a robust sales pipeline using MQLs and SQLs.

  • Client Engagement: Establish and nurture relationships with prospects using phone calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings. Develop a deep understanding of client needs and tailor your approach to showcase the best-fit solutions.

  • Solution Presentation: Deliver tailored presentations, demonstrating the platform’s value in addressing client needs. Clearly highlight the key features, benefits, and value propositions of our offering.

  • Sales Process Management: Drive the sales process from initial contact to deal closure. Work with senior sales colleagues on strategic proposals and client meetings to ensure a seamless journey for prospects.

  • CRM Management: Keep precise records of client interactions and sales activities within the CRM system (Hubspot), ensuring a smooth and organised sales process.

  • Market & Industry Insight: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and product developments to continually enhance your knowledge and approach.

  • Collaboration & Compliance: Collaborate with the SDR and marketing teams to leverage lead-generation efforts. Ensure all activities comply with industry regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a sales role, such as Business Development Manager, Account Executive, or Sales Development Representative.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • A passion for growth in a sales-driven role, particularly within the SaaS industry.
  • A track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • A proactive and positive mindset, with a “there’s always a way” approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience managing the entire sales cycle, from lead generation through to closing deals, including working with MQLs and SQLs.
