This role involves managing Employability & Health contracts aimed at helping unemployed individuals return to work. The contracts address participants’ barriers to employment and provide tailored support to help them achieve and sustain good quality work in their local communities. This includes one-on-one job search advice, retraining guidance, and assistance in restoring participants’ self-esteem. The work plays a key role in building connections for participants, helping them develop their health, skills, and social well-being.

As a Business Manager, you will lead and inspire a team, embed a high-performance culture, and ensure compliance with all contractual requirements. The role also involves contributing to the strategic growth of the Employability & Health division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver all contracts and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer service standards, performance, financial management, compliance, and quality.
  • Manage contracts within a set financial budget, including Profit & Loss management and monthly financial forecasting.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach teams to meet individual and team targets.
  • Regularly review management information to identify trends and proactively address potential risks (performance, compliance, quality, and staffing resources).
  • Implement performance management strategies, identify skills gaps, and mentor staff.
  • Drive a high-performance culture aligned with company vision and values.
  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement (CI) teams to monitor service delivery, making recommendations to exceed contract objectives.
  • Ensure compliance through regular review of internal controls and adherence to policies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities and Jobcentre Plus (JCP), to ensure appropriate referrals and enhance service delivery.
  • Provide customers with a positive experience, seeking ways to improve engagement and services.
  • Deputise for the Area Operations Manager as needed at internal and external meetings.

Other Responsibilities

  • Take accountability for personal professional development and engage in necessary training.
  • Handle personal data in compliance with the organisation’s data protection policies.
  • Actively participate in promoting safeguarding for children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
  • Adhere to the company’s policies and procedures, including Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, and IT.
  • Be flexible with travel and overnight stays as required.
