Are you a strategic sales leader ready to champion a team of four business development professionals? We are actively seeking a Head of Sales to lead, nurture, and develop a dynamic team working towards the ambitious goal of achieving 50 apprenticeship starts a month across niche provisions in early years, social housing, and business services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning:
    • Own the sales strategy, collaborating with key stakeholders.
    • Develop and implement annual business plans aligned with organizational priorities.
    • Share ideas and collaborate across the organization to maximize business opportunities.
  1. Operational Management:
    • Ensure compliance with funding rules and internal policies.
    • Set and monitor sales targets aligned with budgets.
    • Lead a proactive approach to quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
  1. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and develop a team of four business development professionals.
    • Drive staff engagement, retention, and well-being strategies.
    • Implement annual training programs for the team.
    • Deliver impactful annual performance reviews and monthly one-to-ones.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
    • Develop effective relationships with referral organizations, key account clients, and partners.
    • Proactively manage internal business relationships across the organization.

Specialized Focus:

  • Lead a team targeting 50 apprenticeship starts a month across early years, social housing, and business services.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:


  • Experience in leading sales teams within the apprenticeship and skills sector.
  • Proven track record of winning business, motivating teams, and achieving sales targets.
  • Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Leadership/management qualification at level 3 or above.
  • Basic knowledge of ESA (DfE) funding rules.
  • Ability to excel in high-pressure situations.
