Apprenticeship Trainer (Home-Based with Occasional
Location: Home-based with occasional travel to team meetings.
Note: Most training will be conducted remotely, but some clients may request face-to-face training, so occasional on-site delivery may be required.
Role Overview:
As an Apprenticeship Trainer, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of apprentices, helping them develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and behaviours to excel in their roles and successfully complete their apprenticeship programmes. This is a dynamic role where you’ll be actively involved in the learners’ development journey, supporting them throughout their apprenticeship and guiding them toward success.
This role may also require you to take on additional duties as necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training Delivery: Provide engaging training, coaching, and instruction to help learners develop their skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Learner Assessment: Assess learners’ readiness for the programme and create tailored learning plans that support their progress.
- Support: Offer continuous support to both learners and employers, including assistance during the End Point Assessment (EPA) process.
- Collaboration with Employers: Work closely with employers to create practical activities that enhance learners’ skill development.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor learners’ progress against apprenticeship standards and conduct tripartite reviews.
- Effective Communication: Liaise with both apprentices and employers to set and review learning goals, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Guidance: Provide ongoing guidance to help learners stay on track and achieve their apprenticeship goals.
- Functional Skills Support: Help learners who are not exempt from functional skills achieve their English qualifications. Experience in delivering Maths functional skills would be a plus, but not essential.
- Promote Apprenticeships: Advocate for apprenticeships as a valuable career pathway and promote the training provider’s values and mission.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of individuals
- Ability to deliver engaging, interactive, and effective training sessions
- Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage your own time effectively
- Professional approach with strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities
- Team player who is flexible and willing to support business needs
Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of leadership & management and coaching apprenticeship standards
- Previous experience delivering professional training
- Experience working in a leadership & management role and/or in-depth knowledge of delivering leadership & management qualifications up to Level 5 (and ideally Coaching Level 5)
- GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- A teaching qualification is advantageous but not essential – full training will be provided
