Performance Manager – Employability

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading government contract organisation specialising in employability and skills, for a Performance Manager to join their new Connect to Work programme in Lancashire.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced people leader to play a central role in a brand-new contract, helping individuals with health support needs to access and sustain meaningful employment.

The Role

As Performance Manager, you’ll lead and support a small team of frontline coaches, ensuring they deliver a high-quality service that meets performance targets and delivers real impact for participants. Alongside line management, coaching, and performance monitoring, you’ll also hold a small caseload, supporting individuals into sustainable employment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing, coaching, and motivating a team of Employment Specialists to deliver strong performance and outcomes.

  • Driving team delivery against contract KPIs, ensuring compliance and quality standards are consistently met.

  • Building and maintaining strong stakeholder and partner relationships to create a robust referral pipeline.

  • Supporting employer engagement activity, helping to open opportunities in the local labour market.

  • Leading on quality assurance, client satisfaction, and continuous service improvement.

  • Producing performance reports, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring solutions are implemented effectively.

About You

We’re looking for a confident, motivated leader who brings:

  • Experience managing performance in employability, skills, health, or related people-focused services.

  • Proven ability to lead teams to achieve targets and deliver high-quality outcomes.

  • Strong relationship management skills with employers, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coach, support, and inspire teams.

  • A genuine passion for making a difference through employment support.
