An exciting opportunity has arisen with a growing Ofsted Grade 2 provider in the apprenticeships and skills sector. They are seeking a Commercial Director to lead their business development and marketing functions, reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the Board.

This is a pivotal role for a proven commercial leader who can shape and deliver a growth strategy, while inspiring and guiding a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a commercial strategy aligned with ambitious growth plans.

• Provide visionary leadership to business development and marketing teams, driving collaboration and high performance.

• Identify and pursue new revenue streams and partnerships across the education and skills landscape.

• Conduct market analysis to inform strategy and stay ahead of sector trends.

• Build and maintain senior-level relationships with employer partners, trade bodies and commercial stakeholders.

• Monitor performance, using data-driven insight to achieve and exceed targets.

Candidate profile

• Significant experience in a senior commercial leadership role with a strong track record of business growth.

• Deep understanding of work-based learning, apprenticeships and sector regulation.

• Excellent leadership, negotiation and influencing skills.

• Commercially astute, analytical, adaptable and resilient.

• Confident managing budgets, sales pipelines and performance indicators.
