About the role

As a Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in driving our company’s growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities within the facilities and apprenticeship sectors. This role focuses on building and nurturing strong client relationships, actively promoting our services, and expanding our market presence. You will manage the entire sales cycle—from lead generation through to closing deals—targeting both apprenticeship and commercial revenue streams. What you’ll be doing

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, particularly within the facilities sector, to drive growth in both apprenticeship and commercial revenue streams.
  1. Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities by networking, attending industry events, and engaging with potential clients to enhance the company’s market presence.
  1. Work closely with internal teams to gain a deep understanding of client requirements and develop tailored solutions that support their business objectives.
  1. Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation through to deal closure, consistently achieving or surpassing commission and revenue targets.
  1. Travel regularly to meet clients and represent the company at events, embodying a motivated, social, and client-focused approach to business development.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, particularly within the facilities sector, with a focus on understanding and meeting customer needs.
  1. A proactive, social, and motivated self-starter who is eager to learn, develop new skills, and actively promote the company’s services.
  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with clients both in person, at events, and remotely.
  1. Willingness and ability to travel regularly for client visits and industry events, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to expanding market presence.
  1. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities, especially in apprenticeship and commercial revenue streams.

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience in sales or business development, ideally within the facilities or apprenticeship sectors, with a track record of driving commercial revenue.
  1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong client relationships and confidently engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  1. Highly self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently while managing a full sales cycle and willing to travel regularly for client meetings and industry events.
  1. Eagerness to learn and develop professionally, with a strong interest in commercial sales strategies and client management.
  1. Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets, with a clear understanding of commission structures and performance incentives.
  1. A valid driver’s license and access to a car is preferred but not mandatory.
  1. Comfortable and enthusiastic about representing the company at external networking events to enhance brand visibility and business growth.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary of £35,000 plus a car allowance to support your mobility and client visits.
  1. An attractive commission structure with potential earnings of around £6,000, including 1% on apprenticeship revenue (paid after the fourth payment) and 5% on commercial revenue, designed to reward your sales success realistically.
