As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be at the heart of that growth developing employer relationships, promoting new training models, and creating opportunities that make a real difference to workforce development.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture long-term relationships with employers, building trusted partnerships that align apprenticeship solutions to workforce needs.
- Generate new business opportunities and secure multi-year deals that enable scalable cohort delivery models.
- Promote our client’s apprenticeship and commercial training portfolio, positioning it as an industry-leading solution for workforce development.
- Deliver engaging, persuasive pitches and presentations that showcase the impact and value of apprenticeship programmes.
- Work collaboratively with internal delivery and curriculum teams to ensure a seamless learner and employer experience.
- Cross-sell wider education and training solutions to support employer development strategies.
- Represent our client at regional networking events, forums, and industry panels to raise brand awareness and generate new opportunities.
- Consistently identify, convert, and close opportunities in line with KPIs and growth targets.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven track record of success in business development or sales within apprenticeships, training, or education.
- Strong communication and consultative selling skills, with the ability to engage and influence C-suite and senior stakeholders.
- A strategic, self-starting mindset – able to take ownership of your region, build your pipeline, and convert leads into lasting partnerships.
- Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and results-driven, with a focus on long-term relationship building.
- Thrives on autonomy and is comfortable managing time and priorities effectively.
- Confident delivering professional presentations both in-person and virtually.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across your region.
Desirable:
- Experience promoting Finance, Digital, or Leadership apprenticeship programmes.
- Understanding of levy-paying employers, workforce development planning, and apprenticeship funding structures
