Are you a strategic thinker with a talent for persuasive writing and a passion for creating social value? We’re recruiting on behalf of a Community Interest Company (CIC) that works across central and local government contracts to deliver meaningful change. They’re seeking a Bid & Proposal Manager to lead the development of high-quality bids and proposals that secure new opportunities and partnerships.
Role Overview
The Bid & Proposal Manager will take ownership of the full lifecycle of competitive public sector tenders, grant applications, and strategic proposals. You’ll work closely with colleagues across operations, finance, and strategy to craft submissions that reflect the organisation’s strengths, impact, and values.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the planning, scheduling, and coordination of bids and proposals across multiple live opportunities
• Manage the opportunities pipeline to support future workload planning
• Write and edit persuasive, compliant, and tailored responses for tenders, grants, and partnership offers across a range of commissioners and funders (including DWP, MoJ, Home Office, and Local Authorities)
• Oversee governance processes, including internal reviews, sign-offs, and submission quality checks
• Collaborate with colleagues to articulate service models and impact narratives across different contracts
• Develop and maintain a content library (case studies, CVs, impact data, boilerplate material)
• Translate complex service models, financial information, and evaluation data into compelling narratives
• Track outcomes across bids and proposals, embedding lessons learned and continuous improvement
• Support Business Development Managers in shaping early-stage propositions and strategic pitches
About You
• Experienced in managing and writing competitive bids, grant applications, and strategic proposals
• Skilled in persuasive writing with strong attention to detail and compliance
• Capable of managing multiple deadlines and stakeholders across a fast-paced environment
• Confident working with senior colleagues, operational leads, and external partners
• Comfortable interpreting financial and impact data to strengthen submissions
• Proactive, resilient, and motivated by securing opportunities that create social impact
• Collaborative and quality-driven, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
• Able to work independently through a hybrid working model
