Working as part of the UK Government’s Youth Guarantee programme, you will engage with employers across the region to identify vacancies, develop recruitment opportunities and build lasting partnerships. The programme is designed to support 18–21-year-olds who have experienced long-term unemployment by providing fully funded six-month paid employment opportunities, giving young people the chance to gain valuable work experience and build successful careers.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building relationships, achieving targets and making a real difference to local communities and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new employer partnerships through networking, direct marketing, digital engagement, telephone outreach, meetings and events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, stakeholders and internal colleagues to maximise employment opportunities and referrals.
- Identify local labour market trends and growth sectors to match candidates with suitable vacancies.
- Take a consultative approach to understand employers’ recruitment needs and provide tailored recruitment solutions.
- Work collaboratively with training providers and partners to develop pre-employment training that meets employer requirements.
- Manage employer accounts, delivering an excellent customer experience that encourages repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Advertise vacancies, screen candidates, coordinate interviews and gather timely employer feedback.
- Maintain accurate records and management information while ensuring compliance with operational procedures, data protection requirements and equality standards.

Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven sales, business development or employer engagement experience within a target-driven environment.
- Excellent networking, relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Experience working to challenging KPIs and consistently delivering results.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, CRM or management information systems, email and diary management.
- Knowledge of recruitment processes, training provision and employability or welfare-to-work programmes.
- Experience securing vacancies and supporting successful job outcomes (desirable).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to identify key decision-makers, build trusted relationships and generate new business opportunities.
