Learner Coach – Vocational and SIA Training

Role Overview

The Learning Coach inspires and supports learners to achieve great outcomes through dynamic teaching, skills development, coaching and mentoring. You’ll create an engaging learning experience, adapt to individual needs, and keep learners motivated and progressing with confidence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of learners and provide regular, meaningful support.
  • Capture all evidence accurately to meet learning, achievement and funding requirements.
  • Create personalised ILPs based on initial assessments, including Maths, English and Digital Skills where needed.
  • Engage learners and stakeholders, working collaboratively to maximise learning opportunities.
  • Plan and prepare assessments, ensuring learners are fully supported and confident.
  • Motivate and inspire learners to stay on track and achieve their qualifications.
  • Deliver high-quality feedback that drives learner improvement.
  • Work closely with IQAs to maintain best practice and support quality assurance.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and identify new opportunities.
  • Produce timely reports and contribute to high-quality learning materials.
  • Demonstrate positive values and behaviours at all times.

 

Leadership

  • Act as a role model, creating a motivating, supportive and professional learning environment.

 

Financial Accountability

  • Ensure timely learner starts and completions, with full compliance for funding evidence.

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Relevant industry experience and qualifications, plus ongoing CPD.
  • Level 3 Award in Education & Training.
  • Level 3 Awards in Conflict Management, Physical Intervention and First Aid at Work.
  • Minimum 2 years recent UK front-line security experience.
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths, English and ICT.
  • Strong communication, coaching and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Coaching qualification.
  • PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • TAQA/Assessor qualifications.
  • Understanding of government-funded training programmes.
  • Experience helping learners into sustainable employment.
