Team Leader – IPS

The Team Manager will be responsible for supervision, training, caseload management, and role modelling best practice in line with IPS Fidelity standards. This role is central to delivering a high-quality service that achieves positive employment outcomes for health service users as part of their holistic recovery plans.

You will also manage a small caseload of service users with health support needs, supporting them into sustainable paid employment aligned with their skills, preferences, and aspirations.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver a high-quality IPS service aligned to IPS principles and Fidelity standards.
  • Drive and monitor stakeholder engagement to develop and sustain a robust referral pipeline.
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and deliver presentations to promote the service.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of IPS Employment Specialists, providing guidance on best practice and achievement of individual and team job outcome targets.
  • Create and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify staff training needs and arrange appropriate development opportunities.
  • Support the design and delivery of in-house training, including peer learning and best practice sharing.
  • Involve service users in co-production of service developments where appropriate.
  • Coordinate Employment Specialists’ employer engagement activity to access the hidden labour market.
  • Support a small caseload of complex cases (typically up to 5 service users).
  • Identify barriers to service excellence and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement solutions.
  • Deliver solution-focused monthly supervisions, including caseload management.
  • Lead the team to ensure sufficient face-to-face employer engagement.
  • Coach and mentor the team to deliver effective employment engagement and job development strategies.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are in place to capture and act on service user feedback.
  • Assist in the management of relevant budgets.

Relationship Management

  • Hold regular meetings with service users to monitor progress pre- and post-employment.
  • Meet with the Line Manager to agree priorities and work plans.
  • Build strong relationships with local employers to negotiate suitable job opportunities.
  • Arrange and facilitate employer education and support, including workplace adjustments and return-to-work strategies.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with employers to support job retention.
  • Develop effective working relationships with external agencies such as colleges and training providers.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Complete mandatory training, including IPS approach training.
  • Actively engage in continuous professional development.
  • Support the implementation of organisational policies and procedures.
  • Lead on marketing and profiling the service, including communications activity.
  • Collect and promote service user employment recovery stories.
  • Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation systems are adhered to.
  • Maintain compliance with information governance, safeguarding, and related policies.
  • Work independently and deliver consistent, high-quality IPS practice.
  • Manage feedback, comments, and complaints effectively.

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements, including Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, and Access for All.
  • Ensure premises are maintained in line with statutory requirements where applicable.
  • Be flexible to work across different locations to share best practice and cover absence.
  • Participate in learning, development programmes, and staff meetings as required.
  • Maintain continual professional development.
  • Carry out all duties in a manner that supports continuous quality improvement.
  • Be flexible in relation to working locations across all areas where Our Client operates.
  • Undertake any other duties in line with business needs.
